Travis Fimmel as…Daemon Targaryen

Prince Daemon Targaryen was King Viserys’ brother. He wielded the Valyrian steel sword Dark Sister and rode the dragon Caraxes, the Blood Wyrm. He was Rhaenyra’s uncle and eventually became her second husband, following House Targaryen’s tradition of marrying kin to kin. Thank goodness House of the Dragon will keep that Game of Thrones tradition alive, right?

Daemon made quite the name for himself during his life. Frustrated because his brother the King refused to acknowledge him as the heir to the Iron Throne, Daemon carved out his own kingdom on the Narrow Sea, and was crowned King of the Stepstones and the Narrow Sea by his friend Lord Corlys Velaryon.

He was also the Commander of the City Watch, and ended up creating the order known as the Gold Cloaks after he gave his men new weapons, armor, and golden cloaks. He served as the Master of Coin and Master of Laws on his brother’s small council, and became Hand of the Queen and Protector of the Realm for his niece/wife Rhaenyra.

Obviously, Fimmel is most known for his role as the Norse king Ragnar Lothbrok on History’s Vikings show, but he also starred in Warcraft as Anduin Lothar, the military commander of Stormwind. In that movie, Fimmel rode a CGI griffin, so he should have no problem doing the same here.
