Friends new and old feature on next episode of Star Trek: Picard

We’re heading into the third episode of Star Trek: Picard, and while I’ve enjoyed the first two, I’m really hoping the shows cranks the action up a notch or two this week. And by the looks of the nine photos CBS All Access has released ahead of “The End is the Beginning,” it looks like I just might get my wish.

In the pics, we see Picard putting together his crew to search for Soji (Isa Briones), a woman he believes to be one of Data’s twin daughters, hopefully before she can be tortured or flat-out assassinated by the Romulan secret death squad. Up first, Picard and Raffi (Michelle Hurd) are in Starfleet uniforms. Is this some sort of flashback? Or are they infiltrating a Starfleet shipyard so they can commandeer their own ship?

Out of uniform, Raffi and Picard enjoy a drink:

Next, we have Rios (Santiago Cabrera) looking all steely and contemplative:

Here’s Picard looking relaxed at the controls of a ship. He just looks natural behind a console.

And here we have Jonathan Del Arco as Hugh, from The Next Generation, although much of the Borg tech that was once part of his body has been removed:

Hugh and Soji are hanging out together, probably on that inactive Borg ship.

Soji gets a solo shot:

And where Soji is, there’s Narek (Harry Treadaway), the Romulan tasked with finding out where the other synthetics are from her memory.

And finally, Picard’s crew assembled:

What a good-looking bunch of adventurers.

Here’s the synopsis for “The End is the Beginning”:

"Completely unaware of her special nature, Soji continues her work and captures the attention of the Borg cube research project’s executive director. After rehashing past events with a reluctant Raffi, Picard seeks others willing to join his search for Bruce Maddox, including pilot and former Starfleet officer Cristóbal Rios (Santiago Cabrera)."

Star Trek: Picard airs on CBS All Access every Thursday.
