Doctor Who is all set to bring back one of its more iconic villains: THE CYBERMEN! Over the years, we’ve seen all kinds of evil on the show, but Cybermen and Daleks are the ones who trouble our hero the most. Something about the Cybermen has always freaked me out, which is why I’m looking forward to seeing them in what has been a pretty awesome season so far.

Just a couple of episodes ago, we saw the return of Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman), who warned the Doctor to “beware the lone Cyberman.” What the heck does this mean?!

Showrunner Chris Chibnall has confirmed that Captain Jack won’t be back this season, but he did talk to The Mirror about what to expect from the two-part finale:

"It’s probably one of the most epic space opera stories we’ve done. It’s a big, big, Cyberman story, that last two-parter. There are a lot of Cybermen coming in this series. […] It might start with one Cyberman, but you’ll see a lot. It’s as epic and emotional as the opening two-parter. I know it takes place across a big distance from space, there’s fantastic spaceships, there’s Cybermen."

Heck yes, Whovians! Maybe we’ll see some Daleks in there too?

Anyway, fans have already begun speculating about how the Cybermen could play a role in the finale,” The Haunting of Villa Diodati.” Apparently, it will involve famed author Mary Shelley, who wrote Frankenstein.

If you ask me, the Cybermen aren’t a far stretch from Frankenstein. This episode writes itself!

Wherever the story goes, I’m ready to see how this new era of Doctor Who tackles the Cybermen.
