New Game of Thrones blades available from Valyrian Steel
By Dan Selcke
In the wide and wonderful world of Game of Thrones merch, perhaps no items are as prized as the recreations of famous weapons from the show courtesy of Valyrian Steel. From Longclaw to Ice to King Robert’s Warhammer, these replicas are beautiful, although we wouldn’t recommend actually using them; best leave the bloodletting to the people of Westeros.
Now, Varlyian Steel has two new items on offer, starting with a replica of Heartsbane, the Tarly family’s ancestral Valyrian steel sword, last used by Jorah Mormont as he defended his queen from a horde of wights:

"Heartsbane is made from stainless steel with bronze finished handle parts and a hardwood grip. It was modeled directly on the actual screen used prop from the show, with accurately matched materials and dimensions. It is a limited edition of 3000 pieces and will come with a certificate of authenticity and wall plaque. Heartsbane will retail for an MSRP of $350 and preorders will open on January 25th at 1PM Eastern (New York) time for summer 2020 deliveries."
Some important details here: this is a preorder situation we’re in; you can order Heartsbane now but it won’t likely ship until summer 2020, so you’ll have it in time for when the zombie hordes come marching down next winter. Also note that it’s a limited edition item, so if you want Heartsbane to hang on your wall, better to act sooner rather than later. You can check it out here!
Valyrian steel is also making available an official replica of the blade that Arya Stark used to slay the Night King, the same one an assassin tried to use to bump off Bran Stark way back in the second episode of the series. What a journey this little knife has had!

"Arya’s Blade will have two versions, one made from damascus steel, one from stainless steel. It was modeled directly on the actual screen used prop from the show, with accurately matched materials and dimensions. The damascus version is a limited edition of 1000 pieces, the stainless is serialized but unlimited. Both will come with a certificate of authenticity and stand with dome. Arya’s Blade will retail for an MSRP of $210 in stainless and $350 in damascus. The stainless we will start accepting preorders on Saturday December 14th at 12:00 Noon Eastern (New York) time for 2nd Quarter 2020 deliveries. Damascus will start accepting preorders 1 hour later."
There are two versions of this blade: one made from stainless steel ($210) and one from damascus steel ($350; there are only 1,000 of these to go around).
Also, you may notice that Valyrian Steel calls this “Arya’s blade” and not “the catspaw dagger,” as it came to be known among fans. I think that was always an unofficial name.
Anyway, Valyrian Steel has always done tremendous work. I get excited thinking about what they could do with some of the weapons to be featured on HBO’s forthcoming House of the Dragon.
