Netflix is trying hard to be our Valentine, but instead of sending flowers, we have a brand new teaser for Stranger Things season 4!

Be warned, however, that despite being just a minute long, the teaser ends with a MAJOR SPOILER for season 4. Check it out below!

HOPPER IS BACK! And he’s part of a prison labor gang in Russia. And yes, that is Game of Thrones veteran Tom Wlaschiha (Jaqen H’ghar) as the one Russian soldier.

At the end of Stranger Things season 3, we visit a Russian prison where they’re holding an unseen “American” in one of the cells. Fans have been speculating for a while that the American was Sheriff Jim Hopper (David Harbour), and now it looks like our suspicions have been confirmed, however much Harbour tried to dance around the question.

This means Hopper somehow survived the explosion that destroyed the machine the Russian government had built beneath the Starcourt Mall in Hawkins, Indiana, the one they were trying to use to enter the Upside Down. How Hopper ended up in Russia remains a mystery, but it doesn’t look like he’s having a good time. I guess it beats getting fed to a demogorgon.

Aside from the long reveal of Hopper’s new hair style — we dig the bald by the way — the teaser was light on hints, except for a sound that plays as it teaser fades out. Is that a new creature from the Upside Down, or just a spooky synthesizer?

Will Hopper somehow bust out of the Russian Gulag and make it back to Hawkins? Or will Eleven, Steve and the rest of the gang hop a flight to Siberia for a wacky rescue mission?

We still don’t have a release date for season 4, but if they’re already dropping footage, sometime later this year seems like a strong possibility. And at least now we know that our favorite sheriff is coming back!
