Get a look at Woody Harrelson as Carnage on the set of Venom 2

With Sony’s Venom sequel scheduled to hit theaters at the end of this year, the cast and crew are hard at work bringing the symbiote’s story to life — and that includes bringing villain Cletus Kasady, better known as Carnage, to the big screen.

Like Venom, Carnage is the result of an symbiote bonding with a human being. But while Venom at least has enough of a moral compass to sometimes be considered an anti-hero, Carnage is completely unhinged and unrepentantly violent. The post-credits scene of the first film teased Woody Harrelson’s portrayal of the character, but recent behind-the-scenes photos and footage have given fans a better idea of what they can expect from the character in Venom 2.

Earlier this week, Tom Hardy, who plays Eddie Brock (aka Venom) in the film, took to Instagram to share a photo of his co-star, Harrelson, all dressed up as Cletus Kasady — and he’s looking a little like Birds of Prey’s Black Mask with his colorful, tropical-patterned getup. Of course, his Hawaiian shirt tells fans little about his portrayal of the character.

What may give fans a little more insight into Harrelson’s depiction of Kasady is a behind-the-scenes video shared on the Twitter page @LetsTalkCarnage! In the video, Kasady is confronted by someone who appears to be a police officer — though he doesn’t seem all too concerned about the confrontation.

Although Harrelson doesn’t speak in the video, his actions during the scene suggest a smug villain who’s unconcerned about the consequences of what he’s doing, or doesn’t believe there will be any consequences at all. And judging by the shots fired after the officer confronts Kasady — and the fact that the villain hardly even flinches — perhaps there won’t be any ramifications for Carnage. Let’s hope Venom himself fares better when it comes to defeating this villain when the movie hits theaters in October.
