John Krasinski wants to play Mr. Fantastic in the Marvel Cinematic Universe

John Krasinski has put his wishes to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe out into the world, and the world is with him. “I would love to be in the Marvel universe,” he told Total Film. “I love those movies because they’re fun, but I also think they’re really well done. And certainly a lot of my friends are in those movies. I have no idea what [Marvel] are thinking. But if they are considering me for Mr. Fantastic, continue to consider me because I would love it.”

It’s like John Krasinski was born to play that role — way more than Ioan Gruffudd and Miles Teller ever were, anyway. Come on, I know you’re thinking the same thing.

For those who aren’t well-versed with Mr. Fantastic and his place in the MCU, let me give you a quick background. This brainy, lanky superhero is one of the founding members of the Fantastic Four. After absorbing loads of cosmic radiation, he developed superpowers along with the other members of the team, his being the unique ability to stretch into any shape or form he wants.

Mr. Fantastic is husband to another member of the Fantastic Four: Sue Storm, aka the Invisible Women. Naturally, since this news broke, the internet is trying to manifest their desire to see Krasinski’s wife Emily Blunt take that role. Honestly, nothing else has ever made more sense. It just…works.

Anyway, Twitter is blowing up with fanmade graphics of Krasinski as Mr. Fantastic, as well as Blunt as Sue Storm. They are pretty darn creative, I must say.

Marvel/Disney, if you’re reading this, listen to the people and give us what we want! Pretty please?

For a while, Disney/Marvel didn’t have the rights to make a Fantastic Four film, but since Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox, the path is open. What do you think will happen first: this or an Office reunion?

Next. The Witcher season 2: Henry Cavill is riding Roach again. dark
