Maisie Williams’ days as Arya Stark on Game of Thrones are long behind her as she prepares for the premiere of her next showTwo Weeks To Live. It’ll be hard to envision her as anyone else but Arya, but I think we can get through this together. I mean, she did guest star in Doctor Who back in 2015 during Peter Capaldi’s run as the Doctor, so it’s not like we’ve never seen her outside of Westeros.

Two Weeks to Live is billed as a comedy, although it sounds like a thriller. It centers around a young misfit named Kim Noakes (Williams) who’s father died under mysterious circumstances. She’s now on the run from gangsters and the police. Leave it to Maisie Williams to play a role like that, right?

Speaking to RadioTimes.com, Williams compared and contrasted working on the Sky One series with her time on Game of Thrones:

"I was very excited to jump into something that was kind of the polar opposite of Game of Thrones. I think tonally this is a very different show. As far as Kim goes, there are definitely similarities between her and Arya Stark, but in terms of being in a contemporary piece… it’s a very different vibe for me."

I’m sure that, at bottom, Kim is a willful, empowered woman, and if that doesn’t scream Arya Stark then what does?

Still, I’m happy to see Williams diving into something new and fresh. It’s not easy to break after playing someone so iconic, but you have to start somewhere!

Williams had to let loose making Two Weeks to Live, more than she ever had to do on Game of Thrones. “When you’re doing drama you have to take yourself so seriously, and everything you do is so sincere. And then coming onto this I realized I was going to have to take the mickey out of myself a lot and just let go, and I’ve never really done that onscreen, so it definitely felt like I had to drop a wall.”

A premiere date for Two Weeks to Live has not yet been announced, but it will be out sometime this year, according to the network’s official page.

Anyone else as excited as I am for this?
