An enchanting adventure looms in the latest trailer for Netflix’s new epic fantasy series, The Letter for the King.

Netflix has definitely upped its epic fantasy game in the last couple of years. Just a couple months back, it premiered season one of The Witcher, with Henry Cavill in the lead role. The show released to an exceptionally good viewer response, and went on to become the most in-demand streaming series on the globe. Can The Letter for the King replicate even a little of that success?

After allowing us a glimpse of what the six-episode saga has in store in a teaser trailer, Netflix has now dropped a full trailer.  We see knight-in-training Tiruri (His Dark Materials star Amir Wilson) in the midst of his perilous quest to, well, deliver an important letter to the king. The trailer also shows off some of the spectacular landscape of the fantasy world, filmed in New Zealand!

In true Lord of the Rings fashion, The Letter for the King entrusts the most daunting of tasks to an unlikely hero. When a ruthless prince threatens to turn the world to darkness, Tiruri embarks on a mission to deliver a letter. However, he unexpectedly learns that he is at the centre of an ancient prophecy, which foretells that he is the only one who can restore peace. Of course, Tiruri can’t deliver the letter all on his own, and he’s joined with a group of friends.

The show is based on Tonke Dragt’s 1962 best-selling novel of the same name. In addition to Wilson, also look out for BAFTA-winning actor Andy Serkis (Lord of the Rings, Planet of the Apes) and his sister Ruby Serkis, who plays one of Tiruri’s companions, Lavinia.

You can binge The Letter for the King when it arrives on Netflix on March 20!
