Doctor Who: Humble Bundle has a massive sale of comics and audios that’s worth checking out
By James Aggas
Hundreds of dollars worth of Doctor Who comics and audios are now available to purchase on Humble Bundle – for as little as one dollar!
Normally, at Doctor Who Watch, we wouldn’t do this. We wouldn’t usually recommend a sale. However, there are two key reasons why this particular sale from Humble Bundle is worth checking out. Firstly, it’s for a great cause, as the sale has been made to support BBC telethon Children in Need. Secondly, Doctor Who fans should know that there are a lot of comics and audios that you can get for a really good price. And I mean a lot.
For just $1 (US), you can get six digital graphic novels from Titan Comics. These feature Doctors both Classic and New, and offer a great taste of their own series. If that wasn’t enough, you also get several audio spin-offs on download, including an episode of UNIT, one-off special The Davros Mission, and the entire fourth season of Dalek Empire.
Oddly enough, Dalek Empire: The Fearless actually works as a pretty great jumping-on point for the series, as it mainly focuses on completely new characters. It also stars Noel Clarke, who plays a rather different role to former companion Mickey Smith. Oh, and the first ever Fourth Doctor Adventure is included, too. So that’s a lot of content to include for a single dollar.
Even audios featuring the popular team of David Tennant and Catherine Tate are included in this sale.

But wait: there’s more!
If all that wasn’t enough, then depending on how much you pay, there’s even more. At $8 or more, along with the huge amount of content you get for just $1, you’ll also get the first three graphic novels of the Ninth Doctor’s own comic series. (Volume 2 is particularly good, as Nine gets a glimpse of someone’s future.)
On top of that, there are even more graphic novels with the Tenth, Eleventh and Twelfth Doctors, and even the 12-part epic Prisoners of Time is included. (For those of you who don’t know, this was a limited series from 2013 designed to celebrate Doctor Who‘s fiftieth anniversary, so it’s pretty special.)
And of course, there are more audios: the entire first season of spin-off series UNIT and Tales from New Earth. The latter isn’t exactly one of the best releases based on the New Series out there, but it’s still good value for money considering everything else that’s included.
More from Winter is Coming
- For All Mankind finally gives us information in Episode 405, “Goldilocks”
- Watch a stunning VFX breakdown of The Wheel of Time season 2
- Of course Steve Toussaint (Corlys Velaryon) thinks Eve Best (Rhaenys Targaryen) should rule Westeros
- Confirmed: The Last of Us season 2 will air in 2025
- Final season of Star Trek: Discovery will have “a lot of action, a lot of adventure, a lot of fun”
Value for money
It gets even better, though. At $15, you can get seven more graphic novels, plus a couple of issues of The Thirteenth Doctor. That’s a lot of value for money already, but then you get to the audios.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, it’s this deal that features the best ones. Tenth Doctor fans will surely love hearing David Tennant and Catherine Tate banter again as the Doctor and Donna in three separate adventures. There’s also the adaptation of Love & War, a rather dark Seventh Doctor story that introduces Bernice Summerfield, one of the best characters in the Doctor Who universe. There’s even more UNIT, this time based on the New Series era and featuring Kate Stewart and Osgood.
But perhaps my personal favorite is The Lost Stories: The Fourth Doctor. Featuring two adaptations of stories originally planned for television but were never made, The Foe from the Future on its own is easily worth getting the entire bundle for.
This is a huge amount of content, and to think you can get it for just 15 US dollars is just incredible. If you want to check out either the comics or the audios, but don’t know where to begin, this looks like a fantastic opportunity to own plenty of both. But make sure to do it while you can: the offer expires on March 18th.
