Jeopardy! shades George R.R. Martin, and other fun stuff

Okay, this is pretty funny: on a recent episode of Jeopardy! — which has been hosted by Alex Trebek or 36 years and counting now, yeesh — contestants were given a clue that probably rang a bell for any fan of A Song of Ice and Fire:

"[no spoilers] jeopardy writers with the GRRM shade on today’s episode from gameofthrones"

“Who is George R.R. Martin?” I don’t actually know if anyone got the answer right, but I know that anyone reading this would have been all over it.

And yes, it’s true that The Winds of Winter — the sixth book in Martin’s saga — has been nearly a decade in coming. There’s only way to stop game shows from making cracks about it, and that’s to release it! We’ll be here.

In less shady news, the official Agatha Christie Twitter account released some behind-the-scenes video of Game of Thrones star Gemma Whelan (Yara Greyjoy) recording to audiobook of Murder Is Easy, one of Christie’s classic mysteries, from 1939. Check it out:

I am fully in support of Yara doing books on tape.

Whelan is keeping busy in general. Here she is on the set of Emma, a new adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic novel:

Whelan plays Mrs. Weston. The movie is out now!

Finally, a couple of the Game of Thrones cast members have hit up Paris Fashion Week, including the always-stylish Gwendoline Christie (Brienne of Tarth)…

Speaking of Williams, Fox dropped a TV spot for her X-Men spinoff The New Mutants, which is finally coming out after years on the shelf:

The New Mutants is in theaters on April 3. Better really really late than never. Watching it will basically be like time travel; Williams was years younger when she filmed it.

Next. A Jason Momoa coloring book exists. dark
