No one asks Lena Headey about Game of Thrones anymore

During its run, Game of Thrones was the biggest television show on the planet, and considering its controversial ending, the conversation continued long after it was over. But for Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister), it seems to have finally stopped…at least for one night.

Appearing at the Laemmle Santa Monica theater at a screening for her new film, The Flood, Headey spent an entire 30 minute Q&A without answering a single question regarding Game of Thrones, according to The Hollywood Reporter

The Flood is about a “hardened, alcoholic immigration officer” played by Headey, so it’s not exactly light fare. Still, you’d figure someone would ask about her time as Cersei, especially since The Floor also stars Game of Thrones alum Iain Glenn (Jorah Mormont) as Headey’s boss. “It doesn’t tell you to think a certain way,” Headey said of the film, “it’s very honest and leaves you to breathe and come to your own conclusion.”

As mentioned, the movie deals with some heavy subject matter, including the plight of an asylum seeker played by Ivanno Jeremiah, who was also at the Q&A. “I don’t do what I do to be liked, I do what I do because it interests me,” Headey said about her compromised character.

Immigration has long been a subject close to Headey’s heart, and she’s spent time in refugee camps in the past.

Westeros wasn’t completely missing from the night. One fan brought up hearing a Cersei voiceover at a live concert she attended, and Headey brought up House of the Dragon, HBO’s upcoming Game of Thrones prequel series, herself. “There’s a spinoff, guys — it’s coming.”
