The final Harry Potter movie — Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 — debuted in 2011, nearly a decade ago. But all these years later, the films — and the books by J.K. Rowling — are still very beloved, and I know there are plenty of fans out there wondering if we’ll ever see a reboot or a remake or just some other new version of Harry Potter on the big or small screen.

As it ends up, that lot includes Daniel Radcliffe, the original Boy Who Lived. “I’m sure there will be some other version of it,” he recently told IGN. “I know I’m not the last Harry Potter I’m gonna see in my lifetime – we’ve already got a few more.” The “few more” he’s referring to are the actors who have played grown-up Harry Potter in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which has enjoyed success around the world since debuting on the London stage in 2016.

"It will be interesting to see how long those films stay… it feels like there’s a sacredness around them at the moment, but that’ll go, the shine will wear off at some point…It’ll be interesting if they reboot them and just do the films again or do a series. I’m fascinated to watch."

With TV the way it is now, with everyone looking for an epic new series to pour millions of dollars are into, I think Harry Potter would be a perfect fit for television. Apparently WarnerMedia and NBCUniversal are currently battling over the right to feature the Harry Potter movies on their respective streaming services, but I dunno who — if anyone — has the right to make a Harry Potter TV show. If it’s you, what are you waiting for?

Alas, we probably won’t see anything like that for a while, at least not until the Fantastic Beasts movies run their course. When it inevitably happens, it’ll be huge.
