Disney has officially postponed the release of Black Widow amidst the Coronavirus pandemic, according to Variety. Given the number of studios that have already made this move — big-name movies like No Time to Die and A Quiet Place Part II have been pushed back — it was only a matter of time before Marvel followed suit.

At this point, I was hoping that Marvel would make this decision because it seems to be the best-case scenario for studios all around, at least for the time being. Black Widow was originally set to hit theaters on May 1, but with theaters around the world either or closing for the foreseeable future, the movie probably wasn’t going to make the splash the studio wanted. And if you were wondering if there’s a new date yet, no such luck.

Along with Black Widow, Disney has also delayed the release of The Personal History of David Copperfield (under Searchlight) and The Woman in the Window (under 20th Century) which were set to release May 8 and April 15, respectively. Neither of these films has a future release date at this time. That’s in addition to delays on Mulan and The New Mutants. (Does anyone else think Disney should just release The New Mutants on Disney+ at this point? I mean, the movie has been delayed since 2017, at this point, just let us see it!)

While we have no idea when these movies will be released, companies such as Universal are seeking alternative paths to release their movies, with both The Invisible Man and Emma being available on demand this week, according to Variety. In fact, even Disney released Frozen 2 on its streaming platform, Disney+, three months early!

So, while these are tough times and many are staying in, there are plenty of movies and shows to catch up on!
