The Last Kingdom unveils season 4 looks at all your favorite characters
By Corey Smith
Hot on the heels of the announcement that season 4 of The Last Kingdom will debut on Netflix Sunday, April 26, we got some new images of your favorite characters. In many cases, some of these pics aren’t that new, as the cast and crew have been known to share a behind-the-scenes photo or two. That said, we do have our first look at a returning enemy of Uhtred son of Uhtred. Make sure to swipe right on each Instagram post — and with that in mind, let’s get this party started.
Naturally, Uhtred comes first, and Alexander Dreymon is looking rather serious. Oh, and we’re totally digging the new hairstyle. Next, we have Uhtred and Sihtric (Arnas Fedaravicius) riding through a forest that features heavily in many of the images. That’s followed by an image of the new king, Edward (Timothy Innes) and his mother Aelswith (Eliza Butterworth), looking none too happy. And speaking of unhappy, no one rocks the scowl like Brida (Emily Cox), who is looking dour as ever in the final image of the bunch.
Returning to that magical-looking forest, Fedaravicius shares a pair of humorous images. Can we expect more of this in season 4? Something tells us that’s not quite true. Why else would one need all those swords?
Also, hugging the horse is a nice touch. On the flip side, and returning this season, we have Joseph Millson, who played Uhtred’s dastardly uncle Aelfric in the show’s first two seasons. Aelfric usurped Uhtred’s ancestral home of Bebbanburg, and Millson teased that not everything was going to be a nice and happy family reunion between the two when we spoke earlier this month.
Digging those boots by the way. Hopefully, Uhtread and his Uncle can work things out…or not. We’ll be good either way.
Finally, James Northcote (Aldhelm) shared a public service announcement regarding the coronavirus outbreak. That’s Fedaravicius’ stunt double alongside who we’re assuming to be Millie Brady’s (Aethelflaed) stunt double as well.
That’s all for now, but with season 4 roughly a month away, it won’t be long until we have a trailer! Destiny is all!
