The finale of The Walking Dead season 10 is delayed
By Dan Selcke
Not long ago, we reported that The Walking Dead: World Beyond, a Walking Dead spinoff series that would focus on the first generation to come of age during the zombie apocalypse, had been delayed. It was originally going to premiere on April 12, right after its parent show aired its season 10 finale. All the episodes of World Beyond had been filmed, but presumably not all the effects been finished, and now that everyone is staying home from work because of the coronavirus, it likely wouldn’t have been ready in time.
Well, now the same fate has befallen The Walking Dead proper. That show is already in the tail end of its tenth season — there are just three more episodes to go before the finale. But today, AMC announced that while we’ll get to see two of those three as scheduled, the big finish with be delayed until “later in the year.”
Daryl does not look in that picture. He must have read the caption.
Anyway, the story is an old one by now. AMC can’t complete post-production on the season 10 finale with all the technicians home from work, so off the schedule it comes. Fear the Walking Dead, the first Walking Dead spinoff, has also delayed its return for another two weeks, and filming was supposed to start on The Walking Dead season 11 in early May, that’s been pushed back, too, with more delays likely to come.
Such is the state of the entertainment industry at the moment. So enjoy the next two episodes of The Walking Dead, and hold onto hope that we return to Robert Kirkman’s zombie-ravaged world sooner rather than later.
Also, the title of the season 10 finale is “A Certain Doom.” Appropriate, no?
