David Harbour on when Stranger Things 4 was SUPPOSED to premiere

Netflix’s Stranger Things is among the many television shows that have had to halt production while the world grapples with the coronavirus pandemic. The series was shooting its highly anticipated fourth season, and even put out a spoiler-tastic teaser trailer before it had to take this break.

Yes, Sheriff Hopper (David Harbour) is very much alive, despite us seeing him blow up in a Soviet base under a mall at the end of season 3. How did he survive and end up doing hard labor in Siberia? We’ll find out as soon as season 4 is released!

Unfortunately, that might be a while. Taking part in a Q&A on his Instagram Stories, Harbour said that the new episodes were “supposed” to come in early 2021, although he cautioned that he didn’t “have authority on this.” Still, as a cast member, he’s certainly closer to it than any of us.

Unfortunately, with the pandemic still raging, Harbour thinks that the premiere date, whenever exactly it was supposed to be, will “probably be pushed back,” which makes sense. The health and safety of all cast and crew members are of utmost importance, so us Stranger Things fans will have to be happy to wait it out.

Plus, the longer the amount we wait, the sweeter it will be when new episodes finally do arrive. The series has yet to disappoint, and with the gang now spread out around the world, season 4 promises to deliver a new and exciting sort of adventure.
