The CW’s Superman & Lois rounds out its cast with Erik Valdez

The Arrowverse is expanding even further with Superman & Lois, which I’m absolutely excited about, in part because of the cast. We already know that Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch will be reprising their roles as Superman and Lois as seen in other Arrowverse shows. Then, earlier this week, it was announced that Entourage’s Emmanuelle Chriqui had been cast in the role of Lana Lang, an old childhood friend of Clark Kent’s who remained in his hometown of Smallville when he left for Metropolis.

And now, stepping into the role of Lana Lang’s husband, Kyle Cushing, is Graceland’s Erik Valdez:

Kyle Cushing is an original character created for the series. (Side note: In the comics, Lana Lang was married to a man named Pete Ross, Clark Kent’s best friend.) In Superman & Lois, Kyle is the fire chief in Smallville, Clark Kent’s hometown. He has small town values and “butts heads” with people from the big city, no doubt meaning Lois and Clark.

So it looks like Superman & Lois has rounded out its cast. But the question remains: when will the series begin production? With the coronavirus putting a halt on a lot of productions, it’s tough to know, but I’m really looking forward to seeing this story come to life once again.

Plus, we’ve already seen how great both Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch have been at playing Clark Kent and Lois Lane in the Arrowverse shows. It’s exciting that they have their own show now to display their talents!
