Star Trek stars share uplifting messages: “You are not alone”

If you’re like me — or anyone, really — you’re probably safely sheltering inside your home about now, staying as far away from other people as possible. The coronavirus pandemic has disrupted all of our lives, and in these troubling times, messages of love and solidarity from anyone can be uplifting and beneficial for our mental health.

That’s why the stars of both Star Trek: Discovery and Picard have created a short video to let us all know that we are not alone.

“This is a tough time for everybody,” says Brent Spiner (Data).

“Times like this can seem overwhelming,” adds Michelle Hurd (Raffi).

“Like me, you’re probably at home glued to the TV,” says Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine).

“I talk to the dogs,” Marina Sirtis (Troi) continues. “When they start talking back, I’ll begin to worry.” Same, Marina. Same.

“These are stressful times,” notes Wilson Cruz (Hugh Culber).

“But I want you to know that you are not alone,” says Sonequa Martin-Green (Michael Burnham).

“And we will live long and prosper,” Jonathan Frakes (William Riker) says, rounding things out.

Of course, not every Star Trek actor on social media is being that serious. Jason Issacs (Captain Lorca) is going a little stir crazy during lockdown. But that’s okay, he’s got his craft to fall back on:

Doug Jones (Saru) just can’t wait to get out of this and start hugging people again:

And finally, Ethan Peck (young Spock) reads a kid’s book: Too Many Tribbles. Perfect.

Stay home, live long and prosper, y’all.
