With less than a week to go until season 4 of The Last Kingdom drops on Netflix, the cast and crew members are kicking things into overdrive to hype our return to medieval England. From behind-the-scenes photos to character portraits and even glimpses at upcoming scenes, we’ve got a little bit of everything to help get you excited for the further adventures of Uhtred, son of Uhtred, son of Uhtred, who was the son of another Uhtred. Destiny is all!

First up, we’ve got official portraits of virtually every member of the season 4 cast, and some of their expressions have us wondering what exactly they’re looking at.

We’ve also got a trio of shots of Wessex’s new monarch, King Edward (Timothy Innes), looking rather regal.

Next up, we’ve got an ever-so-brief snippet of a scene from the new season! Hild (Eva Birthistle) announces Uhtred (Alexander Dreymon) is in the house, and Father Beocca (Ian Hart) perks right up.

Moving onto the cast members’ social media feeds, Ossian Perret gives us a look at his character, Wihtgar, who we think works for Uhtred’s dastardly uncle Aelfric:

Whoever he’s working for, they pay him well: look at all that bling.

Speaking of newcomers, costume designer Molly Rowe shared an image of Stefanie Martini, who will play Eadith.

You can always count on Arnas Fedaravicius (Sihtric), Mark Rowley (Finan) and Millie Brady (Aethelflaed) to brighten up the place. Unofficial set photographer James Northcote (Aldhelm) is behind the camera:

Later, Rowley and Fedaravicius take a break between takes on the season’s biggest battle:

Rowley and Northcote are right behind them:

Meanwhile, on-set enforcer Adrian Bouchet (Steapa) welcomes us to the throne room:

Or he’s gonna hit us in the face with an axe? His expression is hard to read.

Jeppe Beck Laursen (Haestan) is rocking a new and improved set of armor for season 4:

Elsewhere, Baby Monk, aka Osferth (Ewan Mitchell), demonstrates his sword skills to Jackdaw (Tygo Gernandt):

Looking smooth, Baby Monk.

Finally, Rowley shares a day in the life of Finan. We get a glimpse of that massive battle we’ve seen so much of in the trailer:
