Live-tweet all the Harry Potter movies and earn $1,000

Harry Potter fans just got a golden opportunity to make some pretty easy cash. EDsmart — a company that provides college rankings, ratings, and reviews — are behind an opportunity that seems too good to pass up.

The company wants to pick five people to watch all 10 films in the Harry Potter franchise (the eight original Harry Potter films plus the two Fantastic Beasts movies currently released). The five selected individuals must live-tweet their experience in exchange for $1,000, not a bad trade if you, like me, already love these films.

Why is EDsart doing this? Let’s read the press release:

"Most of the Muggle world is struggling with self-isolation and not having a normal routine — like we’re all living in the cupboard under the stairs. We realize that at this time, we can’t all head to Diagon Alley to stock up on goods nor Hogwarts to be with our friends."

That’s quite a beautiful sentiment.

Of course, there are some caveats involved with this too-good-to-be-true opportunity. First off, contestants must be U.S. residents over the age of 18, be active on social media, and already have access to the movies somehow.

By the time the chosen five finish this Harry Potter marathon, they’ll have been earning approximately $40/hour. And don’t worry: those 25 hours will fly by because EDsmart will be sending out a “Potter Prize package” worth around $155 to each participant. They include:

  • Harry Potter Butterbeer caramel corn packages
  • Harry Potter gummy candy slugs
  • Bertie Botts Every Flavour Jelly Beans
  • Chocolate frogs
  • A “Harry Potter” Gryffindor snuggie
  • A Hogwarts Alumni stainless steel insulated Tumbler
  • A $100 Grubhub gift card

Also, the number one pick of the five will get the entire Harry Potter film collection on Blu-Ray. I mean, after watching 25 hours of the franchise, I’m not sure this person will be wanting to watch it for a while, but it’s pretty awesome nonetheless.

If this job is up your alley, you have until May 15 to apply. And if you’re one of the chosen ones, you’ll get to spend 25 hours and 6 minutes of your life in absolute Harry Potter glory and get paid for the privilege. It’s a good gig if you can get it.
