Thanks to the coronavirus, Netflix may have pause filming on the upcoming fourth season of Stranger Things, but we’re still getting tidbits about it. Joe Keery (Steve Harrington) had some very interesting things to say about it to Total Film Magazine:

"Oh man, it’s pretty amazing – the Duffer brothers have really done it again. I think that this year – and I know I say this every single year – but this is definitely going to be a lot scarier than prior years, because last year was pretty dark."

No kidding the third season was dark. Between the character deaths and the inter-dimensional blob monsters, it made malls the most terrifying places in America.

So what new scary stuff are we in for? The show has already featured its fair share of creepy, crawly, frightening monsters, and we don’t wanna think about what might be coming next.

Although we’re not without clues. The post-credits sequence took us to Siberia, where it looks like scientists have been poking into dimensions better left alone…

Maybe we can find a hint on this white board from the Stranger Things writer’s room, where they’ve listen all the movies, from the 1980s and elsewhere, that inspired this new season:

Independence DayFull Metal JacketWet Hot American SummerHellraiser…that’s quite the mix. How is Titanic going to figure into this? Or Paddington 2You’ve Got MailRogue One?

Unfortunately, with production shut down for the moment, there’s no saying when season 4 will finish filming and be ready for us to binge. But hey, don’t lose all hope! Keery will be starring alongside Ryan Reynolds in Free Guy, set to hit theaters in December 2020 (or at least we hope).

Sorry, I have to add one more from the list because I just noticed it: High School Musical?! Okay, can season 4 start filming again ASAP? Because this I gotta see.

Next. Legends of Tomorrow soars, The Flash flops, and Batwoman drops a major revelation. dark
