What is going to happen to Claire?
I’ve been doing a lot of reading about Claire’s storyline in the Outlander books. It ends up that season 5 has brought in some storylines from the sixth book, “A Breathe of Snow and Ashes.” Usually, each season covers one book, more or less. But this season seems to be bringing in a lot more from the sixth book, and based on what happens in the penultimate episode, that’s probably going to continue.
Lionel Brown is a horrible, horrible man. He’s had it out for Claire since the Battle of Alamance, and after realizing she’s the one behind the mysterious medical column, he reached his breaking point and abducted her.
I won’t lie when I say it broke my heart in pieces to see Claire dragged away in the manner she was. It felt too soon after everything Brianna went through with Stephen Bonnet, and I was definitely not prepared for it.
And it would appear we are just scratching the surface with Claire and her captors, unfortunately. Without giving too much away, Claire is about to go through one hell of an awful experience that will likely change things forever.
Let’s just say her captors might be worse than Blackjack Randall, and that is saying something. I’m not sure what is going to happen to Claire, but I do know that I’m not ready for it. Here’s hoping that by the time the season 5 finale ends, she’s back safely in Jamie’s arms.
