No Time to Die is the 25th James Bond film and the last (so far as we know) to star Daniel Craig in the title role. It was also supposed to have been out in theaters weeks ago. No Time to Die had the dubious honor of being one of the first major blockbusters pushed back on account of the coronavirus. So…congrats on making history?

However, the movie is still coming, and the official James Bond Twitter account is keeping hype alive with the release of several new production stills.

In No Time to Die, James Bond goes into retirement in Jamaica following some kind of betrayal by Dr. Madeleine Swann (Léa Seydoux), pictured here in mid hair-toss.

Later, Bond’s old friend Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright) convinces him to come out of retirement after a prominent scientist is kidnapped. “I’m done with that life,” I imagine James will say. I will also accept, “I’m getting too old for this s**t.”

When Bond comes back, all his old colleagues will be there, including Eve Moneypenny (Naomie Harris), M (Ralph Fiennes), and Q (Ben Whishaw):

Bond will also have to work with Dr. Swann again. The tension.

There are other characters in the mix, including a new agent who’s taken on the 007 code name in James’ absence (Lashana Lynch) and the villain Safin (Rami Malek), who has a disfiguring scar on his face because that kind of thing is pretty much standard issue for Bond baddies.

And all that’s great. But what about the cars? In the trailer, we see Bond driving a souped up version of the iconic Aston Martin DB5 that Sean Connery’s Bond drove in the early movies:

But that’s not all the hardware Bond will have access to this time around. In this final still, Bond (or someone) is driving a new version of the Aston Martin V8 Vantage first featured in 1987’s The Living Daylights, the first James Bond movie to star Timothy Dalton:

So it looks like No Time to Die will mix and match motifs and props and gadgets from different eras of Bond, which is appropriate given that this movie marks the end of an era for the character. Did you know that Daniel Craig has been playing James Bond for nearly 15 years now?

In any case, No Time to Die is now scheduled to come out on November 25, plague permitting. And then the search for a new Bond begins…

dark. Next. More clues that Richard Madden (Robb Stark) could be the next James Bond
