The Snyder Cut is basically legendary at this point. The story in brief: in 2017, Warner Bros. released Justice League, its answer to the Avengers movies but with DC superheroes like Superman (Henry Cavill), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) and Aquaman (Jason Momoa) instead of Marvel superheroes. The movie landed with a resounding “meh,” and almost immediately rumors started to fly that a super-special cut of the film was floating around out there somewhere, hyped along by the actors and director Zach Snyder:
It’s one of the greatest stories ever told, and today, it continues. Knowing we are all bereft of things to do in quarantine, Jason Momoa took to Twitter and trumpeted a fresh bleat of hope into cyberspace, providing the sheep with a shepherd and the voiceless with a throaty rallying cry: “Release the f**king Snyder Cut!”
Is Momoa, privy to inside information we are not, giving us tantalizing clues that the release of the Snyder Cut is nigh? Maybe. Is he just bored in quarantine like the rest of the world and yelling into a camera? Also maybe.
At the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter. What we’ll remember is the laughter. #ReleaseTheSnyderCut. Or better yet, #ReleaseTheSnyderCutOrDontEitherWayIsFine.
