We know that fifth season of Lucifer, the show about what happens when the devil leaves his throne in hell to run a high-end nightclub and consult for the Los Angeles Police Department, is coming to Netflix; we just don’t know when. Like many other shows, Lucifer has run into production hurdles thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, with shooting at a standstill…for now.
So that’s a bummer, but at least the producers are giving us little peaks behind the scenes to whet our appetites. Showrunner Joe Henderson just tweeted out a photo of stars Tom Ellis (Lucifer himself) and Lauren German (his partner in solving crime on the LAPD) lounging about on set, right before everything shut down:
What’s interesting about this photo is how placid and bucolic this filming location looks. Lucifer has traveled to a lot of places in his time. He’s been to hell, of course, and he’s dealt with otherworldly threats both demonic and celestial in Los Angeles proper. But he’s never been to heaven.
Well, I guess technically he’s been to heaven because he’s Lucifer Morningstar, a fallen angel who once waged a war against the place, but he’s never been there on the show. Will he finally pay the place a visit during what is presumed to be the show’s final season? He and God probably have a lot to talk about.
Also, there have been talks about making a sixth season of Lucifer after this one is finally wrapped, but there could be a snag. The devil is in the details:
