Check out the VFX reel for the best scene from The Mandalorian!

The Mandalorian, the first-ever live-action Star Wars show, hit Disney+ last year and became an instant hit. We loved its old-fashioned adventure narrative, which follows hard-as-nails bounty hunter with a heart of gold Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal), we loved his adorable sidekick Baby Yoda, and we loved the look of the show, which recalled the original Star Wars trilogy if it was made by cutting edge technology.

My favorite moment probably came in the third episode, “Chapter 3: The Sin,” the Mandalorian enclave comes to the defense of Din Djarin and Baby Yoda, who are fighting for their lives to escape the other members of the bounty hunter’s guild, led by Greef Karga (Carl Weathers). And now, a VFX reel visual effects company Image Engine shows how the scene came together. Check it out:

Image Engine also worked on “Chapter 6: The Prisoner,” the one where Mando hooked back up with some of his old buddies to spring someone from a New Republic prison. I love how videos like this show how each scene is meticulously constructed from the ground up. From the animatics to the computer-rendered characters to the physical set — and The Mandalorian is working with some seriously impressive state-of-the-art sets — it’s always fascinating to see how the doughnuts are made.

The Mandalorian season 2 hits Dinsey+ in October. This is the way.
