Game of Thrones: Amazing, detailed, colorful map of the Seven Kingdoms
By Dan Selcke
Fan art dedicates to Game of Thrones and A Song of Ice and Fire is routinely beautiful and creative, but I can’t remember many pieces that have hit me like this. Artist J.E. Fullerton made this medieval-style map of the Seven Kingdoms — complete with charmingly drawn sigils for dozens and dozens of houses and clans and groups — some years ago, but it’s just as bracing now:

I love the way the map is color-coded, I love the seven gods at the top and the seven members of the Kingsguard at the bottom (completely with Jaime on the left and Aerys Targaryen in the middle). I could look at the little figures and sigils for hours. There’s so much detail and love here, and it gives you a great idea of how rich George R.R. Martin’s world of ice and fire really is.
And there’s more where that came from! J.E. Fullerton also illustrated the entire Known World, including dinosaurs battling on Sothoryos in the south:

I think it’s the sense of whimsy combined with the dedication to details that’s winning me over. It makes you wonder if what J.E. Fullerton has been doing in the meantime.
