Is Hulu’s new animated Game of Thrones parody from the people behind Robot Chicken worth your time? Watch Crossing Swords with us!
Hulu has teamed up with the producers of the Adult Swim hit Robot Chicken for a new hilarious stop-motion animated series called Crossing Swords. For this show, the action figures and dolls will remain in the toy chest in favor of vibrantly colored peg people. The result is a supremely well-written and wickedly funny Game of Thrones spoof fans will not want to miss.
This medieval laugh riot series follows a young, innocent, and naive-as-it-gets wannabe knight named Patrick who has dreams of becoming the protector of the royal family and the kingdom. Upon becoming a squire, the young man quickly discovers that the King, Queen, and everyone else in the castle walls are just a bunch of corrupt, horny degenerates who regularly make his life a nightmare.
During his journey, he will encounter fire-breathing dragons, Kracken animal rights activists, sassy pirate queens, fart-sparkling fairies, and more. Brutal executions, sex dungeons, and virgin sacrifices gone wrong are just some of the shenanigans in store for him.
And the cast is a star-stuffed affair. In the lead role, we have X-Men and Mad Max veteran Nicholas Hoult, while Dracula Untold and The Alienist star Luke Evans lends his voice to King Merriman. Legendary voice actress Tara Strong is also in the mix along with other big names such as Breckin Meyer and Tony Hale.
While this show won’t fill the void left behind by Game of Thrones, it can tickle the funny bones of anyone who misses Westeros, and anyone who’s looking for a laugh in general. We’ll be reviewing it right here, episode by episode, starting with…
