There’s a video of Paul Rudd dancing to Grease on the set of Captain America: Civil War

People may still be quarantining, but Variety is still producing its yearly “Actors on Actors” segment by piping everyone in from the safety of their own homes. We’ve already seen some great one-on-one interviews, including Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow, along with Sir Patrick Stewart and Henry Cavill. The latest is one that all Marvel fans will definitely be tuning in to see.

Captain America and Ant-Man…er Chris Evans and Paul Rudd came together for the new segment, which is as hilarious as you’d guess. The two first met on the set of Captain America: Civil War, when Ant-Man joined the other MCU heroes after his 2015 solo debut.

These two get to talking about quite a bit, but the highlight comes when Evans recalls some playful hazing they pulled to induct Paul Rudd into the MCU family:

"On that day, it was literally the day I met you, [Anthony] Mackie and I and Scarlett [Johansson] got in our head that we were going to shoot — this is so hilarious — a little video just for the Marvel gang, like a little culmination, like a yearbook video, set to that song from Grease. ‘We go together, like rama lama,’ whatever that song is. We were just going to go around, take little clips of videos of people dancing and cut it all together. The first day I was like, ‘All right, I’ll start collecting some of this footage.’ I have the footage. I was like, ‘Hi, nice to meet you. You don’t know me, but can I get this?’ It was you, Mackie, I think [Jeremy] Renner, Sebastian [Stan], and I just said, ‘Look, everyone, just dance for 30 seconds,’ and you did it. You were a great sport. You willingly danced with little explanation from me, and then I never completed the video. I just abandoned it. But I got that footage of our first day of meeting of you dancing."

And this footage exists? We’re waiting, Chris…

Rudd didn’t remember doing the video, which is just as well, because Evans assured him that it was too embarrassing to share. Aw man, it’s okay, we won’t judge! Just go ahead and share, Captain America!

The conversation between Rudd and Evans dives into both of their recent projects, including Evans’ Apple+ series Defending Jacob and Rudd’s Netflix series Living with Yourself. If you haven’t seen either, I highly recommend it. There’s nothing like seeing the MCU actors play something out of that universe and to be caught completely off guard by it.

As for the MCU? Well, Chris Evans has hung up his Captain America shield for good, and the world is still waiting for more news on the Ant-Man front. Unfortunately, Rudd isn’t able to share anything just yet, but we’ll be waiting. And if he still can’t give that out, the dancing footage should tide us over.

So imagine that but with Rudd as John Travolta. Or as Olivia Newton John, we’d take either one.
