Stranger Things season 4 might have been hit with a delay due to the coronavirus, but you can revisit Hawkins, Indiana while you wait with a new spinoff comic from Dark Horse: Stranger Things: Science Camp.
The series is penned by Jody Houser with art by Edgar Salazar, Keith Champagne and Marissa Louise. This adds to the growing roster of Stranger Things comic titles by Houser. In 2018 she released The Other Side, which gave fans some insight into what life was like to Will while he was trapped in the Upside Down dimension in the first season. Earlier this year, she wrote Stranger Things: Into the Fire, a comic about a group of subjects who escape Dr. Brenner’s lab.
This all-new four-part miniseries will follow Dustin during his time in summer camp, set between seasons 2 and 3 of the Netflix show. It will tell its own story, but the main reason to get reason is because we’ll get to see how he met Suzie, the she-lives-in-another-state girlfriend that the other kids spent most of season 3 assuming was made up. That is, until Dustin had to call on her help to get them out of a jam, which she only gave after they did a duet on the theme to 1984’s The NeverEnding Story.
I mean, who doesn’t want to find out how that relationship happened?
Furthermore, Dustin will have to deal with bullies now that he’s on his own and without his friends. Then there’s the villain, a “mysterious figure with sinister intent” who lurks in the woods. Yikes.

As pointed out by Bloody Disgusting, the new villain looks awfully similar to the character Zeke the Plumber from Salute Your Shorts. Stranger Things usually likes to stick to ’80s reference, but I suppose one ’90s reference can’t hurt.
Here’s the official synopsis:
"Dustin arrives at Camp Know Where to navigate the new social hierarchy without the support of his Hawkins adventuring party. While also faced with nerdy bullies, a new menace haunts the young scientists and camp counselors. A mysterious figure with sinister intent arrives to disrupt the serene woodland scene. The solution won’t take rocket science, but Dustin will have to get on the same wavelength as the other campers before tensions reach a boiling point."
Stranger Things: Science Camp is slated to release September 30.
