Decision on Green Arrow and the Canaries spinoff coming “very soon”

Green Arrow and the Canaries. Is the Green Arrow spinoff show happening or nah? We haven’t heard much about it recently, and many Arrowverse fans are wondering what the deal is. Will it get picked up? Or is it dead in the water? Apparently we’ll learn what’s to become of it “very, very soon,” according to bossman Marc Guggenheim.

I guess that’s something?

Personally, I’d love to see this series get picked up. Seeing Dinah, Laurel, and Mia team up in the backdoor pilot of Arrow, the show’s second-to-last episode ever, was epic. I was on board immediately.

In an interview with TVLine back in April, Katie Cassidy (Laurel Lance) seemed confident the show would get picked up. It’s been two months since she said that, and I won’t lie and say I’m not a little nervous. Of course, the coronavirus probably has something to do with the delay, since the spread has pretty much ground Hollywood to a halt. But with productions springing back to life, hopefully Guggenheim isn’t bluffing that we’ll hear something “very, very soon.”

If picked up, there is certainly an audience for Green Arrow and the Canaries, as the original episode picked up some 890,000 viewers. So, yes, people definitely want to see more of the badass female trio.

So, please, the CW, hear us when we say: We need Green Arrow and the Canaries!
