Take the Black Live: Star Wars erased? Joss Whedon over? Jason Momoa a snowman?

facebooktwitterreddit

Lots of stories to cover on the new episode of Take the Black Live, both important ones and ones involving Game of Thrones veteran Jason Momoa signing up to play Frosty the Snowman.

Nah, I’m kidding: that’s important, too. Watch our pop culture blather below!

After we hit Momoa’s frosty new persona from a couple of angles, we move onto meatier topics. For example, a rumor has gained traction that Disney is planning to scrub the Star Wars sequel movies from existence, eliminate them from the canon so it can start fresh. I go on a bit of a rant about why that’s silly, and we toy with discussing the mindset that makes this kind of theory appealing.

And if all ends up being true, we disavow everything.

Then, we move on to discussing the allegations made against The Avengers director Joss Whedon by actor Ray Fisher, who worked with Whedon on 2017’s Justice League. The accusations are fairly serious. What effect will they have, and where do you draw the line between canceling someone and holding them truly accountable?

And finally, we talk about what we’ve been watching and how we feel about it. I think I’m the only person out there watching Penny Dreadful: City of Angels and you are going to hear about it.
