It is just a trailer kind of Wednesday. Not hours after Netflix dropped a look at the upcoming second season of The Umbrella Academy, we get teases for two more hotly anticipated titles.
First up, Universal Pictures just dropped a new teaser for Halloween Kills, the twelfth (!) installment in the long-running Halloween franchise. Jamie Lee Curtis is back as Laurie Strode, always running from her murderous brother Michael Myers, who’s been slicing and dicing since 1978.
“LET IT BUUUURN!” Oh, Laurie, you know Michael always makes it out somehow.
The original Halloween came out decades ago, but a new movie with that exact same title that picked up the story years and years later hit theaters in 2018, directed by David Gordon Green. On October 15, 2021, Laurie’s long nightmare continues. Cheers.
Next up, Amazon Prime Video released the trailer for the second season of The Boys, its gleefully brutal twist on the superhero story. On this show, superheroes aren’t out to save us: they’re a pack of amoral fame-mongers who think nothing of abusing their powers for personal gain or just because they feel like it. It’s up to Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) and his rag-tag group of resistance fighters to teach them a lesson.
Of course, that lesson didn’t quite sink in with the first season, and the superheroes of the Seven seem hellbent on taking the Boys down. How will that work out? According to the trailer, it’ll involve a lot of one-liners, explosions, and blood splatters:
Also Billy Joel.
The Boys season 2 premieres on Amazon Prime Video on September 4.
