Amazon casts three more roles for The Wheel of Time!
By Dan Selcke
Amazon continues to cast its adaptation of Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time series. We already know who will be playing big characters like Rand al’Thor, Moiraine Damodred and Mat Cauthon, but Jordan’s books are absolutely packed to the gills with side characters, and it’s great to see Amazon committed to filling out the less-traveled corners of this rich and vibrant fantasy world.
Today, we have three new announcements, courtesy of Amazon’s official Wheel of Time Twitter account. First up, Pasha Bocarie will be playing Master Grinwell…

…and Jennifer Preston will be playing Mistress Grinwell:

If you’re read The Eye of the World, the first book in Jordan’s saga, you may remember the Grinwells as the kindly farming couple who host Rand and Mat when they’re on their way to the city of Caemlyn, after they get separated from the rest of the group. After one of the Grinwell daughters starts making eyes at Rand, he and Mat aren’t so welcome on the farm anymore, so on they move…
So we now know that the show will definitely feature this little detour. The other casting is more of a mystery. Izuka Hoyle will play a character named “Dana”:

I’m not aware of a character named Dana from the books, so maybe she’s an original creation. There is a character named Dena, who’s training to me a gleeman (basically a bard) under Thom Merrilin, but she doesn’t show up until the second book, The Great Hunt. Maybe the show introduces her early, or it gets a lot further into the story than we thought.
Theories, queries and wild speculation is all welcome.
