There’s yet another rumor of yet another new Star Wars show coming to Disney+.

Break out the capes: Donald Glover may be returning to a galaxy far, far away as a young Lando Calrissian, a role he first played in 2018’s Solo: A Star Wars Story.

The news comes from Noah Outlaw, host of Kessel Run Radio, but remains unconfirmed by Disney itself for now. Glover would come back to the role in — what else? — a Disney+ series.

“That Brinks truck that they dump on Donald Glover’s lawn to do this show was huge,” Noah says by way of explanation. “Cat’s out of the bag, I guess.”

Obviously, news like this is going to attract attention, although people are split on its validity. CBR is reporting it as a rumor, while also relaying the possible title of The Calrissian Chronicles.

Until Disney comes through with confirmation, we can’t be sure of anything, but it’s not like it would be a surprise. Glover’s performance as a flashy young Lando was one of the highlights of Solo, and as yet little is known about Han Solo’s (eventual) best friend. And Glover remains very popular, with albums, TV shows and more in the pipeline.

Plus, Disney is readying so many Star Wars shows that adding one more wouldn’t be a shock. We have another season of The Mandalorian coming. We’ve got miniseries about both Obi-Wan Kenobi and Cassian Andor. (And if I had to guess, a Lando show with Donald Glover would be another miniseries.) We’ve got The Bad Batch, a follow-up to Star Wars: The Clone Wars. And we’ve got rumors of shows based around Ahsoka Tano and Grand Admiral Thrawn. Sure, what’s one more?

Interestingly, Glover’s co-star on Solo, Alden Ehrenreich sounded lukewarm about the idea of returning to Star Wars, but wherever Lando shows up, Han usually isn’t far behind. Except in The Rise of Skywalker; Han was dead in that one. And maybe this could provide an excuse for Emilia Clarke to return as Qi’ra?

At any rate, what does everyone think? Rumor or fact, are we interested in a Glover headlined Calrissian series for Disney Plus? Sound off below.
