Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers DID appear in the final season of Game of Thrones, but probably not where you’ve heard he appeared.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers definitely had a cameo in the final season of Game of Thrones. This is certain. There’s even a photo of him behind the scenes all decked out as a soldier running for his life as Daenerys sets fire to King’s Landing in “The Bells”:

However, Rodgers’ cameo was a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it affair, unlike, say, Ed Sheeran’s appearance in the show’s seventh season, where he opened a scene by singing a tune.

In fact, even if you keep your eyes open the whole time, you’ll probably still miss Rodgers’ appearance. As he explains to The Ringer, the guy people thought was him before wasn’t actually him at all:

So Rodgers appears in the sequence where Arya is running through the streets of King’s Landing, but it doesn’t look like you’d be able to spot him even if you tried.

For the record, Rodgers was one of several prominent Game of Thrones superfans who was not particularly happy with the way the series ended, as he detailed a while back:

I love how into it he is! You can tell people really pay attention when they can rattle off all the names. Oh, you know he read some of the Reddit discourse.
