There another character crossover coming on Fear the Walking Dead

Yet another character from The Walking Dead will cross over into sister show Fear the Walking Dead on its upcoming sixth season.

The upcoming sixth season of Fear the Walking Dead season 6 will feature character from the original show crossing over. This one I’m particularly excited about because she’s linked directly with Dwight; in fact, she’s his ex-wife, Sherry (Christine Evangelista)!

Their relationship is a bit complicated due to Negan, who made Sherry one of his wives. This is back in the day when Negan was one of the most frightening characters on TV. Can we bring that Negan back, please?

In The Walking Dead season 7, Sherry managed to escape Negan’s clutches. She left Dwight a note implying she might reconcile with him before embarking on a cross-country journey. Keeping all that in mind, I’d guess for a Dwight and Sherry reunion in Fear the Walking Dead season 6.

I’m so here for this because this relationship was never a huge focus on The Walking Dead, but there’s potentially a lot to explore. What has Sherry been up to during her journey? How has she coped with the aftermath of everything that happened at the Sanctuary? And what would a potential reunion between her and Dwight look like?

Fear the Walking Dead showrunner Ian Goldberg reminded everyone during the show’s Comic-Con@Home panel that the Sherry/Dwight reunion was teased back in January, so it’s been a long time coming.

"I don’t want to say too much else about it, but I think the thing that is really exciting to me and [fellow co-showrunner Andrew Chambliss] is we’re huge fans of the character of Dwight. He’s a very different man by the end of season 5 on Fear than he was on The Walking Dead. There was just a whole new light to him.What’s interesting to us, if that reunion were to happen, is he’s a different person now, and who knows if maybe Sherry’s a different person.So the reunion might not be exactly what they think it is. It doesn’t mean it can’t be a great thing, but they’re both different people, and that’s a really interesting thing to explore."

Exactly what I was thinking!

Dwight and Sherry have been apart for a long time, and given that there’s a time jump (or two) coming in season 6, how much time has passed could be a big factor in how their reunion plays out.

Here’s hoping it’s a joyous one! Fear the Walking Dead season 6 premieres on October 6.
