Although it’s been delayed, Disney’s Rogue One prequel show continues to staff up, adding Triple Frontier star Adria Arjona in a new role.

Although production on the upcoming Rogue One prequel series might have been delayed thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, the Disney+ series continues to staff up. The Hollywood Reporter has it that Adria Arjona has been cast in a lead role opposite Diego Luna, who will be reprising his role as Rebel spy Cassian Andor. We’ll see what he was up to before the events of the movie.

Best known for Netflix films 6 Underground and Triple Frontier (which also featured Star Wars vets Oscar Isaac and Pedro Pascal), we don’t yet know who Arjona will play on the show.

The untitled prequel series will also co-star Rogue One vets Alan Tudyk as the voice of the droid K2-SO and Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma. Tony Gilroy, who wrote the original movie, is on board as showrunner; he’ll also direct an undisclosed amount of episode.

Arjona joins a growing list of newcomers to the spy-centric series, which also includes Denise Gough, Stellan Skarsgård and Kyle Soller.

Set sometime before the events of Rogue One, and therefore A New Hope, the series will take place during the early days of the Rebellion, and will follow Andor’s burgeoning spy network. The series is one of a slew of Disney+ Star Wars series in development, including an Obi-Wan Kenobi series starring Ewan McGregor, a Clone Wars spinoff called The Bad Batch, and of course, the second season of The Mandalorian, which is coming in October.

There’s no release date currently set for the Cassian Andor series, but we’re keeping an eye on it. This one looks interesting, so hopefully it isn’t lost in the rush of new content set in that galaxy far, far away.
