Don’t worry, this Game of Thrones fountain pen only costs $5,000

What’s the most expensive writing utensil you’ve ever bought? Multiply that by 100 and it’ll still be nowhere near this gem-encrusted Game of Thrones pen:

Do you enjoy writing, but are concerned that you’re not a pen so expensive you could sell it to pay off your mortgage? May I introduce the solution to your problem: the limited edition Montegrappa Winter is Here Fountain Pen:

This pen, which is real, depicts White Walkers arrayed on the shaft and a fire-breathing dragon zombie perched on top. Look closely and you’ll see other details: a Three-Eyed Raven, human skulls, and of course, the words “Game of Thrones.”

The pen costs $5,000. Sorry, my mistake: it’s on sale for $4,950, a steal.

Where accounts for the price? Well, according to The Goulet Pen, the Winter Is Here pen has “a sterling silver and celluloid body, sterling silver trim, a piston filling mechanism, and an 18kt gold nib.”

I have since learned that a “nib” is the part of the pen that makes contact with the writing surface. This one has gold in it. On top of that, the pen comes “presented in an elegantly themed lacquered wooden box with a bottle of blue ink, and is individually numbered out of 300.

Okay, now that I’m done being sarcastic, the pen does look very cool, with the dead dragon and White Walkers ensuring anything you write is bristling with apocalyptic power.

Oh, and did I mention that the White Walkers’ eyes are made from ice-blue Apatite gems? The luxury.

All that said, obviously spending $5,000 on a pen is…a choice. But hey, if you’re up for it, it’s in stock.
