Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max and more are in a never-ending battle for your attention and dollars. Who will rise? Who will fall? We’re tracking it all:

These days, content creators are in a never-ending fight for your time and dollars. What streaming services should you get? Netflix is the most popular, and you can watch original hits like Stranger Things and The Umbrella Academy. Disney+ is making waves, though; The Mandalorian tells the best Star Wars story in years, and you won’t find that Hamilton movie anywhere else. Amazon Prime Video has lots of options, and what about newcomers like HBO Max? And does anyone remember Quibi?

Everyone wants your attention (and your subscription money), and they’re going to war with each other to get it. Today, we’re debuting a new feature at WiC: Streaming Wars, where we track the stirring victories and heartbreaking losses in the battle for your eyeballs.

Here’s a shot of the graph for this past month. On the Streaming Wars, homepage, you can toggle back and forth to see how the services change positions month to month, and see how they got there.

It’s very simple: each tank on the graph represents a different streaming service. Each month, we’ll look at how well each service did — new hit releases, movies or TV shows going away, big announcements, etc — and assign them each a point total. As the months go on, they’ll move up and down the graph. If a streaming service goes under, they’re out of the game. If a new challenger enters the fray, they get put on.

It’s drama, it’s passion, it’s the winning of hearts and minds, it’s little colored tanks jumping around graph paper, IT’S EVERYTHING.

Right now, we have three months tracked: May, June and July of 2020. But every month we’ll add more, and the war will continue. Who will come out on top? Who should come out on top? Who deserves points for a recent big move or get? Who needs points taken away? Keep checking back to watch the war unfold, and sound off below in the comments!
