Maisie Williams (Arya) stands by the ending to Game of Thrones

Between The New Mutants and Two Weeks To Live, there’s a lot of Maisie Williams content coming out right now, quarantine or no.

Game of Thrones is over a year gone, but people are not done asking questions of the stars. Just look at Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) or Charles Dance (Tywin Lannister), both of whom recently weighed in anew on the show’s controversial ending.

Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) also still gets questions, although it sounds like they’re less stressful than they used to be. She remembered the days of peak Game of Thrones fever during a virtual visit with Jimmy Fallon last night: “I used to walk down the street, and every single person that would recognize me, the only thing they’d ever want to know is, ‘tell me what happens to the next season’, ‘did Jon Snow really die?’, ‘are you going to be blind forever?!’ – All of these things that I just couldn’t talk about.”

"Now, I guess people actually just ask me like, ‘What did you think of the final season?’"

I can only imagine what constantly being asked for spoilers would do to someone, although it did lead to this iconic April Fools joke on The Tonight Show, back in the days when people could actually be interviewed in the flesh:

As for the ending to the show, Williams stands by it: “I was so happy with my ending, and it was just a beautiful end to a decade of my life, and I just couldn’t be happier with it.” She excitedly recalled reading the breakdown of “The Long Night” and piecing together just who it is Arya got to kill. “We had such a blast – we loved it.”

Williams also weighed in on The New Mutants, the new X-Men movie where she plays the werewolf mutant Wolfsbane, which definitely recalls Arya’s time with direwolves just a bit. She described the movie as “Stephen King meets John Hughes,” which we can get behind.

The New Mutants has undergone a long series of delays, but Williams waved off the suggestion that they had anything to do with reshoots or the quality of the movie. For better or worse, it’s landing in theaters on August 28. Proceed with caution.

And The New Mutants isn’t the only new Maisie Williams vehicle coming out soon. She’s busy for someone in quarantine:
