15. Doctor Aphra

Introduced to fans in the 2015 Darth Vader #3 comic, Doctor Aphra was such a hit that she got her own spinoff, and there are even rumors of a TV show being developed for Disney+.

An archaeologist by trade, Doctor Aphra was recruited by the one and only Darth Vader and given several missions, which she carried out alongside her companions 0-0-0 and BT-1, assassin droids both. As we established earlier, everyone loves assassin droids.

Eventually Doctor Aphra fell out of favor with Darth Vader, which meant it was time to disappear before she wound up on the wrong end of a lightsaber. She faked her own death and continues to travel around the galaxy with 0-0-0 and BT-1.

Doctor Aphra’s story is rich and edgy, and best of all, still largely untold. She’s a relatively new addition to the Star Wars universe; creator Kieron Gillen is still exploring her journey, which means we have a lot to look forward to.

Like I said before, there’s a rumor that Aphra may feature in a new Star Wars show coming to Disney+. Doctor Aphra is interesting enough to get a standalone movie of her own, but a TV series might suit her continuing adventures better.

Next up are a pair of characters introduced the same year as Doctor Aphra, but who lived quite a long time before:
