Millie Bobby Brown insists on “a wedding scene for Stranger Things”

What does Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven) want out of the series finale of Stranger Things? Wedding bells for Eleven and Mike.

Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown recently talked with Glamour about her hopes for her character Eleven’s future. On her wish list? A wedding between Eleven and Mike.

That sounds like a reasonable conclusion to their story, right? I can already see it: against a red and smokey sky (sans Mind Flayer) in Hawkins, Indiana, these two longtime demon-fighters gather with their friends and family to finally say, “I do.” It could be set in the future, as the now-grown-up characters return to their hometown for a new adventure: the romantic kind, no Demogorgons allowed. Ideally, Sheriff Hopper would be there, safe and sound and very much alive, to give his honorary daughter away.

I think we have the makings of a good series finale, or at least a good fanfic. Here’s what Brown herself is hoping for:

"I always say to the Duffers [show creators], ‘Can she just not smile like in one take?’ I would love her story to be rounded off by like a good ending. I trust the Duffer brothers so much that it’s going to be beautiful and I’m going to love it no matter what it is. But I’d love for her to get her powers back because she is a hero, she is like a super woman in a way.And she loves Mike – I want them to get married. That’s what I need. I need a wedding scene for Stranger Things, period."

Here’s hoping Eleven doesn’t get one of her infamous nosebleeds while wearing a beautiful white wedding dress.

As for when this end might happen, it’s tough to say. Series creator Ross Duffer confirmed that season 4 is not the end of the story, but we’re not sure how much longer the show will go on after that. It sounds as though they’ve had time during the pandemic to flesh out exactly how they want the series to end.

But for now, the end is not nigh, and we have more Stranger Things to look forward to, whenever that might be.
