The Last Kingdom: Replicas of Uhtred’s sword are coming!

The Last Kingdom fans can thank the gods of commerce: replicas of Uhtred’s sword Serpents Breath are coming from swordmaker Jalic Blades. Destiny is all!

If you’re a fan of Netflix’s The Last Kingdom and looking for the perfect collectible, then rejoice, for replicas of Uhtred’s signature sword Serpent Breath will soon be available for purchase, per LicenseGlobal.

The replicas will be coming to us courtesy of Jalic Blades, the Tennessee-based sword-makers behind the Valyrian Steel line of replica weapons based on Game of Thrones. They also make swords based on The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies, so fans can be rest assured their copy of Serpent Breath will be of the highest quality.

Serpent Breath, Uhtred’s constant companion throughout the series, draws its name from the distinctive ripple patterns on the blade, patterns Brida believed looked like serpent’s breath. Its meaning doesn’t appear lost on Chris Beasley, owner of Jalic Blades. “Knowing how important this unique sword is to Uhtred as a character and to the overall story, we wanted to make sure we got the look and feel of this replica right for our fellow fans,” he said.

Spotlight Licensing, which has been securing licensing deals for The Last Kingdom producers Carnival Films, is also involved in this deal. President Carole Postal explained how Jalic Blades will be able to create an authentic replica of Uhtred’s sword. “During filming of The Last Kingdom’s most recent season, Jalic was able to pull dimensions from the actual screen used prop and get detailed, high-resolution photos to be used for reference,” she said. “The result – drawing upon Jalic’s years of expertise and experience in creating movie and television replica weapons – is a truly beautiful and amazing replica.”

"Jalic’s 1:1 scale replica of Uhtred’s Sword is more than three feet long with a stainless-steel blade, antiqued nickel-plated cast handle, faux leather wrap and a custom molded acrylic pommel gem with faux inclusions. Each sword will be serial numbered and come with a special display plaque featuring a silkscreened design based on Uhtred’s armor."
