Adam Driver stars in new sci-fi thriller “65” from A Quiet Place writers

Adam Driver is returning to science fiction with “65,” a new movie from the creators of A Quiet Place.
Star Wars veteran Adam Driver is returning to the world of science fiction with his upcoming project 65, from Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, the writers of 2018’s horror hit A Quiet Place. Sam Raimi, the guy who directed the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man trilogy, is on board as a producer, per Deadline.
Driver will play the protagonist, although we don’t know any plot details yet. Will he make like Kylo Ren and head back to outer space, or is this a more grounded sci-fi story? I’m at least hoping that Beck and Woods allow Driver a bit more dialogue than they did with the cast of A Quiet Place, where everyone was living in a world where speech meant death. If you hire Adam Driver, you’re hiring that voice.
The only other info we have is that Zainab Azizi and Debbie Liebling will produce alongside Raimi.
Could the title itself, 65, give us some clues? Could the movie be set 65 years in the future? Maybe 65 years in the past? Maybe there’s time-travel and Adam Driver’s character is 65 years old? Could he be an agent nicknamed 65? If they wanted to flummox us, it’s working.
Beck and Woods have collaborated with Raimi before. The trio worked together on the Quibi series 50 States of Fright, with former Vikings actor Travis Fimmel (Ragnar).
As for Driver, this movie is still a while down the line. He’s currently preparing to continue shooting Ridley Scott’s The Last Duel after production was shut down because of coronavirus. After that, he joins the potentially monster cast of MGM’s Gucci, which could also feature Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Jared Leto and Lady Gaga.
So we could be waiting a while for 65. In the meantime, Beck and Woods still have A Quiet Place Part II to show us. In a perfect world without coronavirus, we would have already seen it, but it’s not set for release in April of next year.
Kylo Ren wouldn’t last in A Quiet Place; you know his desire to yell and smash something would get the better of him.
