Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson opens up about he and his family testing positive for COVID-19, and encourages people to wear masks and practice social distancing.

Dwayne Johnson, aka the Rock, aka Black Adam, announced yesterday on his Instagram that he, his wife Lauren Hashian, and his two daughters all caught the coronavirus.

Johnson says that he and his family caught the virus from close family friends, and that they’re through the worst of it. His daughters, aged 2 and 4, didn’t have adverse effects, as is common with children. But he and his wife had a “rough go” of it. They’re been self-isolating and are no longer contagious.

Johnson spends much of the 11-minute video message to be vigilant about who they come into contact with during the pandemic, imploring everyone to wear masks, and cautioning to treat wearing them not as a political issue but one of public health and safety.

Watch his full message below:

Johnson joins a growing list of high-profile celebrities who have caught the coronavirus, including Bryan Cranston, Tom Hanks and Game of Thrones veteran Kristofer Hivju (Tormund Giantsbane). It’s always good to hear anyone with influence encourage people to wear masks and otherwise take measures measures to prevent infection, of themselves and the people around them. And the Rock is so popular that people may actually listen.
