After 15 seasons, Supernatural is almost over, but star Jensen Ackles (Dean Winchester) is taking home something big to remember it by.

After 15 seasons, The CW’s Supernatural is coming to an end this November. Saying goodbye to the Winchester brothers is going to be an emotional event for both the fans and the cast…but luckily, series star Jensen Ackles (Dean Winchester) won’t have to bid farewell to every part of the show. As it turns out, he’s taking home a very cool prop: Dean’s 1967 Chevy Impala.

Those who have kept up with Supernatural know that Dean’s “baby” has been with the Winchesters since the beginning, longer than many of the series’ side characters. It’s no wonder Ackles has grown attached to the car, and it’s undeniably a pretty cool thing to remember the show by.

Speaking with Digital Spy, Ackles revealed that he was only recently given permission to take the Impala when he departs, though it’s something he’s been thinking about for a while. “As far as taking something on the final day, I will definitely be taking something that I’ve had my eye on since day one of Supernatural,” he said. “But it’s okay, I’m not stealing it. I got permission.”

"I begged and begged and pleaded for years, but I finally got it this year. They’re going to let me drive home the Impala."

Meanwhile, Ackles’ co-star Jared Padalecki (Sam Winchester) is also taking home a few items from set, but nothing quite so grand. “I was going to steal the Men of Letter’s bunker, but it wouldn’t fit in my car sadly,” Padalecki said. “But I have a few trinkets here and there that I hope to hold dear forever and ever.”

As the two prepare to leave their demon-hunting characters behind, fans are getting ready to say goodbye to a show that’s been around since the early 2000s. Following a COVID-related hiatus, the final season returns on October 8 and finally comes to an end on November 19.
