10 spookiest Psych episodes to binge on Peacock

5. “In Plain Fright,” S05E11
We finally have another actual Halloween-themed spooky Psych episode, and another personal favorite.
Thirteen years ago, Santa Barbara Scare Fest was cancelled after someone fell from the ferris wheel and died. Now, Scare Fest is coming back, and a Shawn-and-Gus tradition is reborn.
On the first day of Scare Fest, Shawn sees a man die in a haunted house but no one believes him. When that man turns out to be the park’s owner who is missing, a search begins and he is found strangled. Rumors swirl and employees believe the killer is the ghost of Jimmy Ricketts, the boy who died 13 years prior. Is it a homicidal ghost or is it a living killer with nefarious motives?
I love that this episode has a distinct Halloween feel, what with the decorations, amusement park and haunted house. Plus we get to see Shawn and Gus act as haunted house attractions, by far one of the episode’s funniest moments. Their child-like excitement over Scare Fest is something I can relate to on a deep, spiritual level. If you want a fun and spooky mystery, Gus yelling about his eyes and Halloween themes, this is definitely the episode for you.
