Get a behind-the-scenes look at Bucky Barnes in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, watch the trailer for Marvel’s 616, and more MCU goodies:
After a coronavirus-mandated delay, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier — one of several Marvel Cinematic Universe shows coming to Disney+ — is filming again, and we’re getting some interesting behind-the-scenes pics.
Warning: go no further if you don’t want to be exposed to mild SPOILERS.
If you couldn’t guess, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will follow Sam Wilson, aka the Falcon (Anthony Mackie), and Bucky Barnes, aka the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) in the wake of Avengers: Endgame. Thanos is defeated, Iron Man is dead, and the old Captain America (Chris Evans) is out of commission. The stage is set for these two heroes to strike out on their own.
And when they do strike out, there are going to be a few changes. For instance, this is the look Bucky has usually sported in the MCU movies:

The long hair, chrome arm and strappy outfit have become his go-to outfit. But in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, he’s changing things up a bit, as new set pics from Just Jared show:
As you can see, the hair’s a lot shorter and the outfit is more “leather-clad motorcycle cop” than “Soviet assassin from the past.” Times change.
And Bucky isn’t the only one with a new look. In Endgame, Captain America passed his shield onto Sam Wilson, who may become the “new” Captain America. In another behind-the-scenes pic posted by Sebastian Stan himself, we get a look at Wilson’s new getup:
I’m gonna guess he loses the cigar when the cameras start rolling but you never know.
But Wilson may have competition for the title of Captain America. Although we don’t know a ton about the story, it will involve a character named U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell), a kind of government-approved successor to the famous hero, whereas Sam Wilson is operating somewhat outside the law. We foresee a conflict:
As long as we’re talking about all things Marvel, have you seen the trailer for the new Disney+ documentary series Marvel’s 616, which explores how Marvel characters have made an impact on culture over the years? Take a look:
Finally, Sony is releasing a new version of 2018’s hit Spider-Man game for the upcoming PlayStation 5: Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered. They’re making some changes, including altering Peter Parker’s face so it looks more like Tom Holland’s:
Never a dull moment in the MCU.
